Living Together/Cohabitation Agreements
The law treats unmarried partners living together in a very different way to married couples and there is no such thing as a common law husband or wife.
We can help you clearly set out arrangements between you and your partner to deal with property ownership, financial contributions and contents. Under a Cohabitation Agreement this can be tailored to your specific circumstances and would deal with what should happen if the relationship were to break down. If you are buying a property together you also need to consider how that ownership will be recorded at the Land Registry to show your entitlement to a share of any equity. This can also be accomplished by way of a Declaration of Trust to provide further certainty.
