Local children smile on the Worst Day of the Year!
Regional law firm QualitySolicitors Wilson Browne ran its Black Monday event for a third consecutive year, once again linking it to the Leicester Hospitals Charity for the benefit of the children’s ward.
Guests from across the local business community were invited to face the worst day of year in an alternative fashion. Instead of joining in with all the doom and gloom left hanging around after the Christmas and New Year celebrations, where credit card bills have started to arrive on doormats, people realise how many pounds they have gained from over indulging, and the evenings are dark and gloomy, they celebrated in style at The Terrace bar on Albion Street in the city centre on Monday 16th January 2012.
Donations of art and craft materials for the Leicester Hospitals Charity were welcomed on the night so that the children staying in the hospital may enjoy their use during their stay. The event not only brought smiles to those attending but will ensure there are more smiles on the children’s ward in the months to come.
On the night, QualitySolicitors Wilson Browne also made a donation to the Lord Mayor’s Charity, The Royal Anglian Regiment Benevolent Charity Fund, which was established to help the serving and former members of the Royal Anglian Regiment and their dependants who are in need, hardship or distress.
Talented magician John Constantine was also present to entertain the guests whilst they networked and sampled a variety of drinks and nibbles.
“We are absolutely delighted with the turnout for this event” confirmed Family Law Partner Danka Neuborn, who is based at the firm’s Leicester office. “We received such a high level of positive feedback last year so decided to make this an annual event for the Leicester team. Due to last year’s success, we thought that we must tie it into the Leicester Hospitals Children’s Charity once again.”
Timothy Diggle, Head of fundraising for the charity added “We were thrilled to be a part of this event and to be given the opportunity to receive such generosity from the local people and businesses.”
